Making climate change cool one stitch at a time

About the Project

We do not talk enough about climate change on a daily basis. Part of this is lack of understanding, part of it is the overwhelm associated with the topic. In Canada, climate change has been present for longer than most realize. Unless you have experienced the impacts of the climate crisis, it can be hard to visualize.

This knitting project began as a fun activity to show daily temperature in the form of a blanket. It represents the daily average temperature observed in Kentville, Nova Scotia. The data includes 1914 to present day. The goal is to complete one decade per year, plus the current year.
